The Fundraisers’ Bargain Basement Sale (BBS) 2024, an annual fundraising event founded in 2005, was held in Lahore on 3rd November at 62 Main Gulberg this year. Featuring hundreds of coveted designer items, ranging from clothing and accessories; to furniture and home décor; and vintage wear at discounted prices, the event has raised PKR 1.25 crore and counting.
100% of the proceeds raised from the event this year are being distributed amongst the following six charities: (i) RS Foundation – for education of the underprivileged; (ii) Pink Ribbon Pakistan – for treatment of breast cancer; (iii) Lahore Hospital Welfare Society – for free treatment of patients at their convalescent home; (iv) Sab Saath – for water filtration pumps in interior Sindh (v) Mama Baby Fund – for emergency boat ambulance for mothers and infants; and (vi) BBS Foundation – for arranging portable public shower facilities and barber services in Lahore.
On this monumental milestone, BBS Organizer Nuria Rafique-Iqbal has commented, “Team BBS is thrilled to announce that this year’s #BBS24 sale exceeded all expectations, raising over Rs. 12,500,000 within just 6 hours. We anticipate this figure will grow in the coming weeks as additional sales continue, marking another significant milestone for BBS. This year’s success also means that BBS has now raised over Rs. 100,000,000 for charity since its inception—a truly remarkable achievement as we look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary next year. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, whose generous support has been instrumental in making this event a reality and helping us reach these incredible heights for the charities we serve.”
The new ‘BBS Upcycled’ section debuted this year as part of LBF 03 (Lahore Biennale Foundation), aligning with the foundation’s sustainability theme and offering furniture pieces redesigned by local artisans. The BBS Live Auction, held on the day of the sale, resulted in generous donations of over PKR 585,000/- raised by the auction of pieces by Mohsin Sheikh, Shazly Khan, Sehar Adil, and Zahra Ebrahim.
This year’s event was sponsored by Kinetic Pakistan, Sapphire, Guard Filters, and Arif Sons. Our digital media partner was Origami, LumenSoft as the technology partner, Bareeze and Daewoo providing logistical support, Easy Tickets by Dukan serving as the ticketing partner with Lotus Client Management & Public Relations handling publicity.
The overwhelming success of this year’s BBS underscores the dedication of the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees alike in driving positive change. As The Fundraisers look forward to marking their 20th anniversary in 2025, they remain committed to expanding their reach, supporting local communities, and continuing to uplift lives across Pakistan.
