Leading educational institutions from all over Pakistan are featuring in the Chevron Twenty20 Cricket extravaganza which rolled into action simultaneously in various cities of the country on Tuesday (April 4).

The opening ceremony was held in all three cities, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, at 10:00 am in which all participating teams took part. Round Matches started shortly after the opening ceremony and all matches are being played on a Twenty20 format.


In Karachi, Mr. Muhammad Najam Shamsuddin, Country Chairman & Area Business Manager, Chevron Pakistan Lubricants (Private) Limited, inaugurated the event at an impressive opening ceremony. Balloons were released in the air as Mr. Shamsuddin hit a cover drive to open the tournament.

Teams winning city finals will travel to Lahore to play the grand finals between 11th & 12th April 2017.

The Grand Finals will be played between City Winners from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad and Grand final will be played on 12th April at 2:30 pm.

Among the teams taking part in the tournament are:

(From Karachi) IBA, Institute of Business Management (IOBM), IQRA University, PAF Kiet, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology, Hamdard University, Kasbit (Reserve).

Lahore: LUMS, COMSATS Lahore, Punjab University Lahore, Government College University, University of Engineering & Technology, UET- Lahore, HCC – Helly College of Commerce, FAST University Lahore (Backup).

Islamabad: COMSATS Islamabad, Gordon College, NUST University, Air University, Preston University Islamabad, FAST – National University of Computer & Emerging Sciences, RIPHAH international university (reserve).
