The annual Bargain Basement Sale (BBS) returns with its milestone 2024 event on November 3rd, uniting over 200 leading Pakistani brands to surpass PKR 100 million in total funds raised for charity. Established in 2005 in response to that year’s devastating earthquakes in Pakistan, BBS has grown into a vital platform supporting charities focused on education, healthcare, relief work, and gender equity. This year also marks the launch of the BBS Foundation, through which Team BBS will undertake projects that maximize social impact within local communities.
Organized by the registered tax-exempt charity Gulistan-e-Saida, BBS will showcase a wide array of discounted goods and services, with all proceeds benefiting six major charitable initiatives: RS Foundation (supporting education for underprivileged youth), Pink Ribbon Pakistan (breast cancer treatment), Sab Saath (water filtration plants in interior Sindh), Mama Baby Fund (emergency boat ambulance for mothers and infants), Lahore Hospital Welfare Society (free treatment for patients at a convalescent home), and the BBS Foundation (portable public shower facilities and barber services in Lahore).
BBS is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 3rd November, from 12 – 6:00 PM at 62 Main Gulberg, Lahore (next door to Mega Tower on Main Boulevard). This year’s sale promises an expansive selection of designer clothing, luxury accessories, home décor, and one-of-a-kind items, including high-end brands like Chanel, Chloe, Bottega Veneta, and local couture by HSY and Mahgul. The new ‘BBS Upcycled’ section debuts this year as part of LBF 03 (Lahore Biennale Foundation), aligning with the foundation’s sustainability theme and offering furniture pieces redesigned by local artisans. A food court, ice cream stall, and art section with pieces by prominent Pakistani artists will also be available to attendees. The BBS Auction will showcase exclusive items from celebrated artists such as Mohsin Sheikh, Shazly Khan, Seher Adil, and Zahra Ebrahim, along with premium offerings from The House of Kamiar Rokni, Noon & Co., Luxus Himmel, Luxus Attabad, and Villa Ayun. Additionally, the inaugural “Wedding District Auction” will feature exceptional wedding packages.
BBS founder Nuria Rafique-Iqbal has commented, “We’ve always said that BBS is by the community, for the community. This event belongs to all of us, and we’re calling on everyone to contribute, however they can, to help us reach the Rs.100,000,000 mark. Over 200 brands have donated generously, and now we look to the public to come out, shop, and support the six wonderful projects we’re championing. Our collaboration with LB03 on the BBS Upcycled section is particularly exciting as it showcases the beauty of sustainable practices—a crucial step for protecting the Earth’s resources. Thousands of unique items are available at incredible discounts, all for charity! So come, enjoy the day, and let’s give back together.”
